This fall my 750 Paso had a failure of the output (sprocket) shaft bearing. I picked up a used bottom end and just finished transferring all of the parts from the other engine over. I hope to get the engine back into the frame today and maybe get her running tomorrow.

I may take the old engine apart to see just how much damage has been caused by the failure. From what I can see from the outside and by looking into the engine now that the pistons are out, there is very little loose metal in there.

So you've got your barrels, pistons, and heads on a new (used) bottom end and gearbox, eh Jon? Did you set new ignition timing on the new bottom end, or are you just going to see how the new one feels? Let us know how it goes.

I have found the *sweet spot* on my chain again at just on 25mm slack, and once again have a total absence of vibration.

OK, jon, well I hope it FLIES. If she doesn't go as well as she did before, it can only be the timing, eh?

check out the Haynes stuff in the download section if you want to kow how to adjust the timing.
It`s not for the Paso but the engines of Monster/SS are about the same.

Glad to see you've made it over from the mail list. I still do both.

I'll download the haynes info and check it out. It would be nice to do a static timing before putting it in and having it running. Thanks.
