I'm looking for a section that concerns 750 paso air box modifications. On my 2000 guzzi quota, it only involved a hole saw

Well, my airbox is unmolested, and I want to know if anyone has opened their box up to let in more air, or if it's even worth doing. I can't leave anything alone :mrgreen:

At first I made my own air filter in my original box. It was higher flowing and more productive than the one and only air filter available. K&N. Then I replaced the carbs and the air box does not fit. K&N does not make proper filters for the intake of the carbs nor the engine. So I again had to create my own. The filter is higher flowing and also filters better than a K&N filter. Yet it only cost $13.99 US dollars. That was also enough filter to replace the dirty filters a 2nd time. No cleaning but I have the oil and cleaner too. that cost an additional $8.98.

Turin, There is some information on airbox modifications available,several paragraphs citing air fuel changes,hp increases etc. I have just gone through my pdf files looking for it,but can't remember which book it was in,I think it was an Ian Fallon book but I'm not sure,hopefully this will jog the memory of someone else.

From what I can remember there was talk of holes in the lid of the airbox,as well as total removal of the lid,with good increases in hp and insignificant changes in air fuel mixture so as to not require jetting changes.Comparisons were made to a later model ducati that came out with no restrictions in the lid area.

Just note that about all airboxes that are modified and mentioned in articles have the lid on top with the airfilter horizontally or leaning forwards.
If it`s like on a 907ie, Supersport, 888 and many other Ducs it may make sense to remove the lid or cut it open.
I doubt that makes much sense on a P750 or 906 though were the airbox lid is on the rear and the airfilter is standing upright. If you remove the snorkels or the complete sloped lid there`s nothing that guides the air there and I could imagine that the air streaming by when driving fast would rather have the opposite effect creating an underpressure allowing less air to get into the airbox and the carb running richer.
That`s just my theory.
