Even though that is a lot of money I`d have to agree with ducwad. That`s still a bit cheaper than buying them in a shop.
My Mikuni TDMRs did also cost around $750 and the were used (but almost new). New they would cost over twice as much.

Hey G,

I' d like to know a bit more about this FCR business. Suppose at some stage I would look for a pair of these, should I be thinking of the 39mm or the 41 mm? My other question concerns the pipework. Would the FCRs use the original inlet pipes (My Paso currently has a pair of Dell' Ortos so that is not the original setup anyway)? Or do you need a specific set of pipes between the carbs and the heads to fit these? The eBay listings mentions adapters that are included, but I'm not sure whether that is all you would need.

I'm not planning on spending anywhere near $900 right now, but this guy seems to have a steady supply of these FCRs and some are currently at a price that is consideraby lower (and you know I'm a sucker for expensive parts anyway, G :lol:).

Hey Mike,

FCRs are a different concept compared to the standard Ducati Mikuni BDST38 carbs.
While the BDST has a throttle valve below the underpressure controlled slider the throttle on an FCR controls the slider directly resulting in a quicker throttle response to which the accelerator pump adds to which is what for most makes it feel like a different bike. (Btw a lighter flywheel will make your bike also feel quite different).
While the Ducati Keihin FCR kits are sold as 39 or 41 the Mikuni TDMR is a 40. Other than the Keihin the Mikuni also has a choke.
If you have a 750 and want Keihins you should get the FCR39.
The FCR carbs come as a modular system. The velocity stacks and the inlet manifold adapters are screwed to the carb and can be swapped according to your needs. If you get the right ones they will fit on the original Duc inlet manifolds. If you`d replace a BDST38 on a Supersport or Monster the airbox would still fit as before. Of course on a Paso that`s not the case. You`ll have to come up with a solution.
It`s said that you can get even more performance from single FCRs, but that should be mainly because of the short inlet manifolds.
