weber carburator paso 906cc 1990

I try the ajusted my carburator is a weber came original for paso 906cc 1990, and iddle screws mixture was 2 turn out, and also there couple screws about in line the acelerator pump one is complete close and another is two turn and half open, i don' t have a manual for check this screws, somebody know how is the correct adjusted for this four screws.

The lower screws tune the mixture, the upper tune the idle speed, of course for each cylinder.
Manual says that one of the idle must be fully closed, but you need to build your own vacuum balancer.
Have a look to my post in 750 paso F.A.Q. topic.
Remember that a correct idle balancing might be not enough if throttles are not working properly, so you have to control balancing also at 1800~2000 rpm turning the handle.

My "new" 1990 906 Paso is very responsive and runs great.
My question concerns the idle speed.
It's set to 1100 rpm which seems a bit high to me.
What idle speed rpm does the manual call for?

I would'nt say 1100 RPM idle is too high.
It's absolutely right for a such engine :thumbup:

1200 RPM is quite normal to "not tuned" engines if talking about Ducati 750 and 900 engines. Tuned engines need more RPM's

It actually seemed OK to me but I thought it would be good to have you good fellows confirm such.
I've been riding 50 years and am very surprised at the level of enjoyment I've experienced with this motorcycle.
I figured my 906 would make a nice addition to my collection but had no idea I'd find myself riding it every day as I have.
I'm really quite impressed with it's level of performance, especially for a 20 year old bike.
I found myself at a Ducati dealer today checking out new Ducatis.
I know it's not a purest bike in the true sense but I'm intrigued with the new Diavel, due to arrive this coming spring.
I'm thinking it may be my next motorcycle. :mrgreen:

Any interest for the Diavel amongst you fellows?

My wife has always wanted me to add a Harley to the collection,perhaps this could be a compromise,not that I find anything wrong with a Harley,besides brakes and handling :lol:

Personally, I have never been a fan of Harley's.
I much prefer faster, more powerful motorcycles with decent handling.
I have ridden large displacement harley "clones" with S&S and other engines and while offering more performance than HD, they still are archaic in comparison with other modern cruisers.

For a cruiser style bikes, I much prefer my custom Suzuki M109

Or my new Triumph Thunderbird 1700

Or my Honda VTX 1800 custom

Or my Rocket III

Where we live in California, about 80% of all motorcycles on the road are HD.
None of my cruisers offer the handling of a Ducati but they are very comfortable and enjoyable to look at while offering variety to the onslaught of harley davidsons. Not all but most people ride harleys because they feel they look cool on them and riding a HD offers them entrance to the HD "biker" sub culture. TV shows like American Choppers and Sons of Anarchy offer encouragement to this mindset.
I love all kinds of motorcycles.
I ride motorcycles because I love to ride. :mrgreen:

At 62 years old I am fortunate to own and ride almost whatever bikes I want and there aren't any harleys on "my list" :lol:

I'm finding I now have added a few Ducatis though :wink:

First I must sell a couple to make room!

How about new 1200 Multistrada???? It is VERY good bike for allround touring, for long distances and also for short trips to local "not so good surface" twisty roads ?????

I have thinked (SOMETIMES!!!) to sell all my 5 Ducati's and buy new Multistarada 1200.... Then only one bike to take care... :smoke:

Or, soon it is time to make testament for myself, so shall i give all my Paso's to my sons, or let them go away???? Paso's are not so good value for moneys, so maybe better keep them at home and let them to boys.... Especially as i have put "too much time" to keep them in very good shape.... Everybody makes own decisions...... :smoke:

Yes, I have been eyeing the 1200 Multistrada for some time now and I was looking at it again yesterday. Performance wise I'm quite sure it would be a wonderful bike but the styling leaves me a bit cold. For me it doesn't capture the traditional Ducati look or offer a new look I identify with.
I've always been a fan of hot rods and the new Diavel has a look that appeals to me.

The dealer also had a previously unsold 2008 GT1000 that caught my eye.

mr x with all that iron going on it is very encouraging that you rate your 906 so highly. ive test ridden quite a few bikes and owned plenty from the tail end of the second hand market but my 906 stands out in its own special and unusual way. i just love riding it! next spring i fancy testing a rocket three for an afternoon as they look good for two up ridding. but the 906 will be waiting for the ride home. :cool:
