Deka here too. One will also go in my other bike some day.

My first experience with Deka, though it was not an AGM, was a plow battery that gave me eight years of strong service. It was based on that, that I chose the brand for the bike. I found mine at a Yamaha dealer.

Seems, that still same problems with batteries as 20 years ago: If same brand, one of they battery is good and another samekind is crap... I think my battery have something broken inside it, as 2 driving seasons is too short for Yuasa. Anyway no warranty anymore, so have to buy something new next spring.

I have teh Deka's. Sorry for not being complete in my answer.

I get them at the local autoparts store. They have them on the shelf. Just call around. The shop I use is a Carquest.

...just to update this post, two days ago I went to start the 907, but the DEKA has finally died ...not bad though, over 6yrs of good service and they don't mind being neglected...hopefully the next will be just as good

The only issue with a Deka is if the bike is going to sit for an extended period you need to disable the clock like a lead acid battery if the voltage drops below 8 volts you have a 50/50 chance to bring it back...o% if it freezes


Lithium gets a big thumbs down on the Paso's you need very tight voltage control so unless you have upgraded your stator and are using a Mosffet regulator don't bother

I was actually thinking about a lithium battery for the 851, the advantages are obvious, light, small and powerful...but is it going to last?

Tell us more about the Litnium batteries and older Ducati charging systems. My experience of Lithium batteries is that you need to think of them as 13Volt batteries.
I had to remove the electric fuel pump from a bike with the 300Watt alternator in order to adequately charge a lithium battery (Shorai). No issues now.
Any tips?

3 year warranty, they even offer a 1 year racing warranty

I think I am going to be putting an Antigravity in my Abarth.

antigravity makes a 600cca motorcycle battery with a 3 year warranty, unheard of, they will even give you a 1 year warranty if you are racing. even if you manage to muck it up all it does is outgas and then you can just throw it in the trash


the smallest battery they make( 6x1x3 @ 14 oz) is capable of spinning a Ducati 1100 motard 9 times and then has enough left to start your truck lets see a 425cca jump box do that

They will be great but they cost about the double of the Odyssey I fitted on my 907s.
