According to RH Motoradlacke who has a monopoly on motorcycle paints in Germany there`re the following reds:

'84 M.H. Replica II
lighter red -'90
red '91-
red -2002
Senna '95 rims

So the change of red should have come with the 907ie (Antti ?!)

Thanks for all the information. My bike is a late model (first registered in 1990) and so apart from the seat, which has obviously been recovered, I am happy that the remaining parts are as accurate as it gets. I have arranged to have the seat covered in red after Christmas and the red grips will go at the same time. Interesting that the local auto upholsterer had Ducati red in stock having been asked to order it in by someone from Peterborough - any chance it was someone on the forum?

When did the Marzocchi M1R forks get painted to black? My '87 fork legs are aluminum and appear to have never been painted, but the '88 rolling chassis has painted sliders on the forks.

they always were anthracite. Maybe they come from another bike ?

According to Ian Fallons book 750 Pasos up to frame No. 750130 had a 5/8x3/8 chain while from framenumber 750131 a 5/8x1/4 was used.

Redmidget is this all a bit . Well the good thing from all of this is you can pick out all the things you like best and it will still be considered original.
My personal preferences are dark red and gunmetal, polished aluminium triple clamp and grab handle, gold tappet covers, not to many stickers, and I have to say a paso looks better with two stainless cans that are at least as long as the original black ones. I think the 16" wheels are all part of the look but that is another story The thing for me is to get out there and hear, feel see and enjoy the bike.

My Paso was already fitted with replacement straight-through Conti silencers in chrome when I bought her. They looked superb and sounded even more so...! Not objectionably loud, but much deeper and more pleasing tone than the standard black "mufflers".

I've never seen another Paso with the Conti's fitted; none of the bikes in the gallery appear to have them either.

When I have a few moments spare, I'll post some pictures on the gallery. - Can anybody give some hints on how to do that? I found the tips on putting an image into a post but couldn't find the info "in the FAQ" which was mentioned.

Also, redmidget, I had my seat recovered by a local coachbuilder and upholsterer. I gave him a picture of a Corbin seat from the internet and he replicated it for me, having a black cover at the front for the rider's part, and a red cover for the pillion part, delineated by a tasteful white rolled pinstripe. See the 907ie gallery, 000115 and 000011, for a similar-looking seat cover.

These colours made the bike look even more classy, with a slight "single-seater" look about it. But maybe you just want to return yours to the standard colour?

Also, being 6'-2" tall, I found the standard seat pushed me too far forward into the cockpit, so I had about 2" of the foam cut out from the front of the "bum-stop" before it was recovered. This made the riding position far more comfortable.

I'm 6'3" and have a similar experience with the seat. I need to get mine recovered as well. I had also saved a few photos of a Corbin and others with the slit covering that I like.
I have also had a similar experience with the gallery so can't help you there.

Good that I'm not the only taller person on a Paso.
