If someone knows some very good condition bike for good price, let me know, as i start to make some "movements" in next 2 years. I am NOT in any hurry with this thing, so i have time (2 years) to find best bike for good price. I am not finding bike for this next summer, but next after this i will have somekind "traveling dirty bike", like 990 Adventure is. Anoter worser opinion in BMW 1200 GS, but KTM is better for my light weight (78kg). It must be 2008 modell or newer! Low km's with total maintain history. Not crashed or fell down. I am also ready to pay more, if good equipments, like hard bags, more comfortable seat for long journeys, etc.... Details to here: finnpaso@gmail.com Thank You for everybody read this ![]() To avoit too many questions: I start to be little bored to asphalt roads, as i have driven them already "too long time" over 200 000 kms with my Ducati's ![]() |

although the GS is a big and heavy bike I think it`s the better choice. Most marathon tours, from Europe to China, through Africa or whatever are done on GSs. It`s probably also easier to get parts no matter where you are. Germany http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/searc ... Thanks, G, but there are some things, why i am looking more 990 ADVENTURE: 1. BMW 1200 GS is simple too heavy bike for me for bad routes, about 20-25 kg's more than Adventure 2. KTM have much more better suspension compared to GS. Many from BMW have failed badly 3. BMW is more expensive to buy 4. BMW is more difficult to maintain / more expensive to maintain 5. There have been many difficulties with kardan system with newer BMW's. Many have failed too early. 6. BMW have smaler front wheel (for bad roads!) 7. My good friends have more information about KTM, like specialized to KTM injection maps, engine details what helps alot my maintain. I dont have such from GS. 8. BMW "quality" have dropped dramatically down last few years...Plenty of stories about it. They have to make bikes for lower costs to sell enough and give moneys to company owners. Then new bikes are not so good quality anymore. I would say(from all articles what i have read), that GS was good quality bike about 4-5 years ago, but not anymore. Btw, here KTM parts are much cheaper compared to BMW parts.... |

Surely you want the forerunner of the KTM Antii ? The Elefant would be perfect ! |

Antti They are all old technology unless you are going to run a fuel cell ! I think there's a lot to be said for old technology particularly where a long tour is concerned in variable country. fewer sensors to go wrong for a start - no catalytic convertors to worry about with low grade fuel> I'm not so sure technology has moved on that much in real terms |
