Back to VT from Quebec today , as I rolled the bike up one the center stand I could hear something rolling around in the wheel. One of the cush drive bolts apparently sheared off. I believe these are the older style ,thinner bolts but not positive.
Anybody know the size of the old/new bolts so I can be sure and if they can be had ? If not where do I get a cush drive.

thanks for any help

I don`t know about different bolt sizes but #82110091A (current #82110091C) are the same for
Ducati 750 SS `91
Ducati 851 `90 SP
Ducati 851 `91-`92
Ducati 888 Superbike `92
Ducati 888 `93->
Ducati 900 SS `90
Ducati 900 SS `92
Ducati 900 SS/SL `94-`97
Ducati 907 I.E. `92
Ducati 916 `94
Ducati Monster 900 `93
Ducati Monster 900 `94

The bolts of 749/999 have a different part number.

The cush drive is the same on
Ducati 851 `91-`92
Ducati 888 Superbike `92
Ducati 888 `93->
Ducati 900 SS `92
Ducati 900 SS/SL `94-`97
Ducati 907 I.E. `92
Ducati Monster 900 `93
Ducati Monster 900 `94

If you can`t find anything else or lost the trust in original parts these may be an option

I had one of the cush drive pins on mine shear a few months ago. When getting a replacement the dealer sent me the wrong one - from the later models, same as my ST.
The early pins as on the 907 have an M10 thread which screws into the sprocket carrier and also retains the sprocket with nuts on the outside. The later pin has an M12 left-hand thread which screws into the sprocket carrier and then steps down to M10 with a RH thread to retain the sprocket. To fit the later pins you'd also need to fit the later sprocket carrier with suitable bearings.

I wonder if there are left hand metric M12 thread inserts like Helicoil. Probably hard to find but if there was a shop they could drill out the M10 thread of the 907ie sprocket carrier and mount the new type pins (if the threaded section of the old and new pins have the same length).

Another possibility would be to get a used ST2/SSie etc sprocket carrier, remove bearings and bearing spacer and measure the outer diameter of the bearings. Then take the 907ie sprocket carrier apart to get the bearing spacer, measure the required inner bearing diameter and go through some catalogues to see if there`s a bearing that lets you combine the old bearing spacer with the newer sprocket carrier.

The measurements of the rear sprockets of 907ie/ST/SSie etc. are the same btw.

Just an idea if someone stumbles over this topic in future.
New pin bolts are about $26 ea. (€17,50 at Stein Dinse). Makes them even more expensive than those titanium bolts linked above. However those are the post `95 type as I`ve now learned.

so far no dealer has the old style pins.(82110091a). I'm trying to find someone who has 1 or 2 laying around or a '92 cush drive I can either swap out or get a pin from.

that info is in the workshop manual ;) 34,3-37,3NM
The bearing type in the cush drive is a 6005-2RS1/C3, isn`t it ?

Tht bearing is the same in:
Ducati 600 SS `95/97
Ducati 620 i.e `01
Ducati 748 `99
Ducati 748 `99 SPS
Ducati 748 R `00
Ducati 748 SP, Biposto
Ducati 750 Paso `84-`92 , BJ 1984 - 1992
Ducati 750 SS `91
Ducati 750 SS `92
Ducati 750 SS `94
Ducati 750 SS i.e.
Ducati 750 F1/Laguna Seca
Ducati 851 Superbike Racing `91
Ducati 851 `90 SP
Ducati 851 `91-`92

Ducati 900 SS F.E. `98
Ducati 900 SS inj. `99
Ducati 900 SS/SL `94-`97
Ducati 907 I.E. `92
Ducati 916 `94
Ducati 916 Monop.-Senna `95-
Ducati 916 SP `96
Ducati 916 `98
Ducati 996 Bip./Monop. `99
Ducati 996 SPS
Ducati 998 S FE
Ducati 999
Ducati 999 R `04
Ducati 999 S
Ducati 1000 SS i.e.
Ducati MH 900 evo `01
Ducati Monster 600 `98
Ducati Monster 600 `98 Dark
Ducati Monster 600 `00
Ducati Monster 750 `00
Ducati Monster 900 `93

Ducati Monster S4 `01
Ducati Multistrada 1000 DS
Ducati ST 2 `97

Hence it seems one could just swap the bearing spacers and then use the newer sprocket carrier on a 907ie.

Had a similar, actually same problem with mine, check out the link.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2859

I used the complete drive sprocked carrier from an early MultiStrada which slotted straight in. Saved a LOT of cash.

Goodluck.
