Will slip on pipes for a 906 fit a 907? Curious if the inside diameter is the same. I would presume the hangers would be the same.

I owned a 906 and now have got 2 907s.
The engines are the same and the frame's fitment points, too.
Beside, many slip on mufflers are sold both for 906 and 907.
I never tried, but I think they'll fit.

Yes, they will fit. Most suppliers sell them as the same for both bikes. You may have to do some minor modifications (like cut the exist. pipes shorter or make a dimple for the foot brake linkage), but nothing major.

Well I got the new F1S yesterday and they fit like a champ. No modifications needed at all. Sure quieted things down a bit.

I rode about 100 miles today. It's getting a little louder, but not as raspy a sthe Staintunes. Going to ride about 300 miles tomorrow with a buddy that just bought a new Concours. It should be sounding , Deeep, after this ride. He told me it cruises 80mph @ 2500 rpm. I guess I'll be seeing a lot of Jap tail lamp tomorrow.

I looked at a 907 on Saturday that had staintunes on it and yes they are louder than the F1s. You can buy the insulation packing for the F1s at almost any bike shop, undo the clamps, pull the outer part of the slip-on off of the pipes and pull the old worn out insulation off, wrap the new around the pipe. I use picture hanging wire to bind the insulation blanket, some people use tape, which burns up after time. I don't particularly like the clamps that holds the alumn. tube onto the pipe, the bolt and nut will rub the swing arm if you rotate the clamp so you can't see the bolt and nut from the side. I found a similar clamp at Advance Auto for a customized intake pipe. I then took parts of the clamp and used it with the original clamps to make a better looking clamp that doesn't protrude near as much. It makes for a more factory look.
