Post subject:  adjusting clutch biting point ??

Hi all, My 907 had a recent new clutch fitted before i bought it but the biting point is very close to the bars, this makes it tricky when changing down the gears as you slow down.

How can i adjust this ?

Thanks

It's not designed to be adjustable, but you can try
a) bleeding the clutch line
b) if that doesn't help, remove the clutch pressure plate and put a small ball bearing inside the pressure plate bearing cup, ie so it lengthens the pushrod.

One or both of the above will work no probs.

Failing that you could fit a bigger bore master cylinder (eg from a later bike). Will also fix the problem.

there should be a little screw in the lever (Allen 3) or you can buy a more modern lever, which has an excenter to adjust the biting point.

I was going to go out on it to see if its a lot better but its P!55*ng it down now :,(

Maybe tomorrow :)

Remember to do a very accurate bleeding work.
If not, you'll have many problem to find the neutral during the ride.
