Then I brought it to a professional, who did a great job for $40. He said that the parts being welded need to be preheated with oxy-acteylene to within a few degrees of the melt temperature and then TIG welded. I then did a lot of band sawing, filing, and sanding to get a contoured look and as wide a pad on the ground as I could. I had to sand a little off the back surface to clear my exhaust. Overall the lean angle and stability are way better, not to mention it is easier to put down with my foot!
