I rode the 907ie for the first time today, and all's I can say is ... Yeah, Baby! First I went for state safety inspection at Aero Cycle (a Harley repair shop), always fun to bring the Ducatis and Triumphs into a Harley shop. Then after lunch I rode out to Concord, stopped at the famous MotoMarket & Cafe, then back through Carlisle, and home to Arlington, a total of 60 trouble-free miles. ![]() A fun ride, gorgeous weather here, too! ![]() ![]() Anyway, here we are stopped at Old North Bridge, you know, By the rude bridge that arched the flood, their flag to April's breeze unfurled, ... . |

that's one nice lookin' bike you have there... I like the look without the rear mud-flap; very sporty... |

Thanks, guys. The seat is a Corbin, probably a few years old. See their current offerings at http://www.corbin.com/ducati/paso.shtml. (I had my Monster seat done over by a local auto upholstery shop -- now I can sit on it for more than 5 minutes.) See this thread re. Corbin: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2523 The mudflap for sure is minimal, just an aluminum plate with one bend. I'll take more photos tomorrow to illustrate. |

Those early style Corbin`s sure look better than the latter KingandQueen custom style ones. |

Hey Kurt, Well done, nice bike. You beat me to the punch. Bought my 907 last week here in the land downunder. Rode nearly a 1000k's the day after and she performed faultlessly. Absolutely fantastic ride. Jaffa "Volvo aware motorcyclist" ![]() |

Hi Jaffa, I saw your posts about your first ride, so with a bit of self-deprecating irony I trumpeted my massive 60 mile first jaunt! ![]() The history of this bike is a little murky, so I've been cautious with it so far. I'm the third owner, the second owner had it for a year before me. The service records "were lost in a shift from paper to digital", the bike tipped over once while being wheeled out of the garage, things like that made me feel a bit uneasy. So even though the mileage is pretty low and it looks great, I did take a chance with these unknowns. So far, so good, though, and I'm enjoying working on the bike. I'll start lengthening my rides. But for colder weather, I'll take the new Monster and plug in my 90w jacket liner and heated gloves. ![]() |

Ahhh, the joys of the electronic age. She seems to be in very good condition Kurt, I hope you get a lot of enjoyable miles out of her. My old girl is back on the road now with the clutch pressure sorted. I will probably start the next leg of my run west in a couple of days. Enjoy!! ![]() |

Kurt, Awesome find I am sure you will love the 907. Sweet Staintunes they sound great. I remember back in early 90's everybody that had a 907 from ProItalia put a set of those cans on. Nothing cooler than seeing a street full of 907's (30-40 Pasos) rumbling at the weekly Saturday morning meet. The Corbin is fantastic! I can do 750 mile days no problem with my 1" bar risers and that saddle. Have fun, Donaldo |

Hi Donaldo, Thanks -- I put on another 100 miles today, running fine. The bike has been re-geared so you run through the gears pretty fast, and of course, hear the exhaust note rise and fall all the more often. ![]() The 907 came with 3/4 inch risers, keeps you from crushing your thumbs against the tank, too. The 907 I bought new in 1992 fit me perfectly, and I did some long trips with the stock seat and bars ... in my younger days. And why, oh why, did I trade it away in '95? I think it would be great to get a Paso meet or ride-in going in New England, but no others are in the regional club, so it will take some research and networking -- a mission to be accomplished. Then you are an old 907 owner returning to this great bike Kurt.... that is fantastic! ![]() I too made the mistake of selling my 907 in 1995 and realized my mistake. A year later I called back the guy who bought it in Michigan and found that he had decided to sell it so I snapped it back up. He only put 1500 miles on it and had a full service on it in the time he had it so I was happy. It has not left my garage since. I purchased the bike originally when I was 23 so I know what you mean by "younger years". I have owned dozens of bikes over the last 20 years and there is not one that I would trade the 907 for its riding balance and that soul stirring feeling that it evokes. NOT EVEN ANOTHER DUCATI! And I have owned a 916, 900ss, ST4, as well as numerous Triumph and Suzuki sport bikes. To me it is rolling functional art! I usually ride to mid Ohio annually for the AMA and Vintage races. I see a few Pasos there every year. |
