Hi all, I recently purchased my 92 907ie and was told it has Hi-Comp pistons and a chip in it. The pistons check out as I have the boxes the new ones came in with the old one in the boxes. I also have a FIM chip box with a chip in it marked: Ducati 907ie 023. I asumed this was the stock chip. I hapened to open up the ECU to check what chip I have but it says the exact same thing: Ducati 907ie 023???? How do I know which is which to be sure the performance chip is installed? Thanks . Duncan.

I have had a few chips from FIM for the 907ie.

the OEM Ducati FIM equivalent was labelled BPO
the chip for use with Staintune exhausts is a UM021

I have a revised UM021 (which is 2 piggy-back chips) installed in the bike

my guess is the 023 is for some other engine modification...but dunno what...probably the hi comp pistons???
dunno why you'd have two the same?? ask the previous owner??

On the stock chip of the ECU there is a label with the written "023" or "023U" for the USA bikes, which have a leaner combustion.
Ciao

Interesting, I may have two stock chips if that is the case. Anyone have a extra FIM chip for sale that would work with hi-comp pistons and Staintune slip-ons? Thanks, Duncan.

my chip marked 023 has Euro hand written after it, the 023u has stock written after it. The FIM is in the bik so I don't know what it has on it.

i "think" u may still get one from ferraci (sp) but not sure as i kno the fim (uni-chip) guys stopped dealing with them.

i have an bin.file that i "think" is enhanced (not stock) i got from the web a couple years ago with the intent of getting a e-prom burner and some blank e-proms and trying but never did....

i can e-mail u the file if u want to try that, there is a post a while back where i posted the pics that i got with the files , not really sure what i got though.. might do a search and see if thats good enough for ya anyways......

if anybody could burn the e-prom i would pay for one as well i just dont have the time to chase all the stuff down at the moment.......

Really, I'm also manage to burn an eprom but I'd be afraid to make trials on my 907s...
Some time ago, I bought a wrecked 907 which has a modded eprom on the ECU.
I never fitted it on my 907s...
I think it needs to know what we are doing. I don't.
Ciao

I was checking what chips were in my 907's,and the FIM chip in 91 model is 907BPS3 and says for staintune muff on chip.On 92 model with ferracci pipes 023 on chip which is original. Can really notice the difference in performance. Was on website www.Fuelinmoto.com.au and Ultimap chip for slip on mufflers is UM021 as laddie stated.Am calling Monday to see if can still purchase one.

Sorry, tewsy, FIM is out of business.
But some stores may have them elsewhere.

The BP or BPU is FIM`s first chip f 907fr 1991, followed by UM021.
First hand info fr Duane himself, answered a year or so after request...

Mine has the FIM 907 BPG2 Slip-On Mufflers chip in it. I presume it is for Staintune's Seems to be working fine with airbox modifications.
