I was shocked earlier this week when I found that my left side oil cooler cover had cracked at the bottom, fracturing into several pieces. My first thought on a repair was to purchase a harbor freight plastic welder. In order to use this correctly, I need to know what type of plastic this piece is. Any ideas? Has anyone used a plastic welder? Results? Epoxy / Resin suggestions?
Final note:
Has anyone purchased / used bodywork from airtech.
I see their site listed the 86-87 Paso 750. Does anyone know if this is identical to the 1988? They look the same to me.
Any insight into these questions is GREATLY appreciated.
Chris

The fairings are a kinda weird material, like fibreglass but using plastic as the resin, FRP? Fibre reinforced Plastic , with a gel coat. Where the gel coat has chipped away you can see fibres, and the layers you would see in slate.
I have just had my 907 fairings media blasted to remove all old paint. They are a white colour, a roughish matt finish left by the media blasting.
I have read on this forum that the aerotech fairings are good, much lighter, you will have to drill your own holes.

the oil cooler covers are a different material than the rest of the fairing. They are rather soft.
Reading in this and other forums it seems that lots of guys tried to contact Aerotech but never got a reply. So calling them may be better.
The oil cooler covers are basically the same on all Pasos. The only difference is that on the P750 the covers is held by 3 bolts on the lower section not only 2 like on the 906 or 907ie.
