I came across this list of Ducati sprockets in a JT catalogue and thought it may be of use. I see later 906s are geared up by a couple of teeth, but not 907s ![]() Cheers, CB |

Guys, You can fight what is good bike and what is not good bike, but about "gearing": It depends only and totally whatkind roads you drive, how You want bike behave in city centers/gear changes), what is Your driving style(like how much u use RPM), do you neet top speed, or are You driving very fastly in twisty roads, etc, so conclution: That GEARING is very personal thing and its very difficult to say, that is just right gearing ratio... I really dont need any high top speed, as most roads here are "80 km/h"(ok, bikes use little higher speeds in such roads ![]() ![]() In ST series bikes its very simple, as then i can change easily front sprocket(15 original or 14 aftermarket) and no need to change chain at all, but as in Paso,i cant find 14 for front=> then i have to put bigger to rear. Its easy in 907, as it uses same rear sprockets, as many other Ducati modells(SS/Monster, etc), but difficult in 750 Paso, as difficult to find bigger rear sprockets to it (or smaler to front!) ![]() ![]() |

Hi All, If you want to study how different sprockets (or tyre sizes) effect speed at any given rpm in any given gear I can recommend a free download tool called GearData: Beware when you first try and run it you may need to change the decimal point indicator depending on if your computer uses European or other settings (i.e 2,75 vs 2.75) so if you get strange error messages in German when you open it, this is probably it - just click OK, maybe a few times, then change the data entry to 0,00 or 0.00 It's all in German but you get the idea (otherwise Babelfish is your friend). The images below are the stock 906 OEM setup and the setup I'm going to use for my 17inch conversion. I found this via a download that is already existing on this site so probably someone else has more experience with this tool? And I can't claim credit for finding it! Paso gear ratios were sourced/checked against std 900 engine specs on 906 with 16inch wheel, 160/60 rear tyre 906 with 17inch rear wheel (4.5 tyre from 600SS), 160/60 tyre and 15/40 sprocket combo Cheers, Mick |

Hi, I think 736 is a JT Sprockets brand code. JT736-15 or 14 can be used for the front for the 906 and the later 900 supersports I think. See below. Cheers, Mick |

Yup, Even I can read that when you make it that easy ![]() Definately not JT then, but I wonder if it's the same pattern given it is the same code ? Sorry for the red herring! Cheers, Mick |
