Given that the 906 Paso has a cam timing that is quite 'soft', has anyone tried putting a set of 900ss cams to the 906 engine? They have the same lift for inlet and exhaust but longer duration. |

Nope, as per my 906 instruction manual the 906 has an inlet/ exhaust timing of : Inlet 20/60 Exhaust 58/20 (excluding Swiss model) But the spec for a 1997 900ss is inlet/ exhaust timing: Inlet 24/70 Exhaust 59/29 see the next link (Andres Ducati 900ss homepage) http://mysite.mweb.co.za/residents/an000003/ele2.jpg Furthermore there is an article within this very website from performance bikes that states the the 906 cam timing is the softest tune from Ducati yet (1989). http://ducatipaso.org/docs/906/articles ... -03-89.zip So according to my information it would appear that the 906 has a softer tune than a 900ss. |

Ducati belt-drive two-valve twins restoration and modification guide states: 906/907ie/900SS/E900/M900....................20°/60°...58°/20° 900SS (1994-1996).................................43°/85°...82°/46° 900 SS FE (1997-98)/M900S (1998-99)..........24°/70°...58°/29° 900SS (1998-)/M900 (2000)......................25°/75°...66°/28° so it depends on the year.
