I`ve never seen an airbox like the one on the left. (also that reed valve. The 750S airbox I have only has a rubber flap) G.

Hey G, Not ever having had an airbox on the Sport, but that looks like something specific for a US market model, have seen similar things in pictures of Airheads in the US on other sites, it's all for additional emission control or some such. Maxfiche show this for a US R Series mono shock which was nearly the last of the aircooled "pure road" bikes (don't want to upset the G/S and GS crowd) Cheers Peter

Hi, My Sport has the reed valve as indicated on the picture. I also believe all the tubing and such on the left are for some hydrocarbon vapour control to lower harmfull emissions. My Sport has not been fitted with that. In addition to the topic of airboxes. I came acrosss the 400cc sport which has fitted with Mikunis as standard according to Ian Fallon two valve restoration guide. I wonder what kind of airbox is on that model? KR Joep |
