The guy I purchased the 750 sport from put 900 SS Mikuni carbs on the bike. I have read from other posts that the 750 is best jetted with the 140 main jets. Is this correct? Is there anything else I have to change?
The local smog test has a rolling road dyno, I have been thinking of taking the bike there to have them check the proper jetting with there CO meter.
Any other suggestions would be most helpful.
Thanks
Joe

I have the K & N filters. Not sure on the jet kit. There is no model number on the side of the carbs. Just Mikuni Corp. This week-end I am going to take the carbs off and check the main jet size. Also see if I can find a model number.
Thanks
Joe

if it is the standard Mikuni the model number stamped on it will be BDST38. That carb is the same on all carbed SSs and Monsters 600, 750 or 900cc. What comes after this number is only an indication of a different jetting.

i asked for the carb model numbers because it will tell you what model they came off of but most importantly it will tell you what the jetting is. not just the replacable jetting but more importantly the pressed in nonreplacable air jet in the bellmouth which affects the entire midrange from low rpm to high rpm. this is important to know. blaster

buy or borrow ian falloon's belt drive two valve restoration book. the carb listing is in the back but even this book does not have any info about the pressed in air jet. if the model numbers printed on the side of the carbs where the slides are has been removed(carb cleaning) tell me if the pressed in air jet is larger, smaller, or about the same diameter as the removable one next to it. blaster
