Post subject: | Marvic Akront 16" Wheels |
Hi All, I've just acquired 3.5 and 5.0 x 16 Marvic Akront wheels. Sorting out the front brake disks is easy. Does anyone have experience with the rear disk brake set up? Many thanks, Mark |

Well I've been looking out for these wheels for years... I bought them from a nice chap in Australia. He had them advertised for US$800.- on eBay and nobody was interested. I paid AU$800.- plus shipping costs. Regarding the rear disk brake set up I was wondering whether the 851 Tri Colore setup would work. Or maybe the setup from the 750F1 Montjuich & Santa Monica. Alternatively the setup that Harris Performance use for their TT2 replica. Your thoughts on this are highly appreciated. Many thanks, Mark |

the situation is that the swingarm design is different on both of those bikes. there are photos of a paso equipped with these wheels in the gallery, perhaps you could grab them and zoom in with some image tool and take a peek at what's installed. http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic.php?set_a ... _album.php I might be able to get you in touch with him |

standard Michelin A/M59x fare should fit fine. i believe that's what was on the 851 as OEM. |

Yep, that's the plan - standard new 16 inch 130/160 60 series Michelin tyres and not hard dried out old tyres... |

Aaaaaah! So YOU are the swiss guy that bought that items on ebay! I was interested in them, too, and I made my offer, but a bit too late... you're a lucky man. Ask Gherard for info, he gave me some useful tips about that. Bye, LC |

Last year I tried to buy the Marvics that Gerhard bought but I was too late then. By the way, the guy who sold me the Marvics sold those Marvics to Gerhard as well. Cheers, Mark Aka - the Irish (and not Swiss) guy living in Switzerland |

Post subject: | Re: Marvic Akront 16" Wheels |
i have a set of mint marvic / akront 16" alloy magnesium wheels of a 88 851(i think).Sizes are 16x3.5 and 16x5, (the type where the magnesium hubs can be unbolted from the alloy rim. i may sell these at the right price if any one is keen. I am in nz, they are less disc rotors , sprocket and sprocket cush. i will probably put them on ebay one day soon. ![]() |
