I read the FAQ on the subject but numbers seem to be out of date so does anyone have current sources, actual sizes or part no's for a x ring, quad ring for our clutch slave? I don't really want to buy 50 but just a few. Thanks Arch. |

The only difference between the original piston and the one used in all those others could be the depth of the seal ring groove but I guess it`s the same. |

Thanks Steve and G. I had already looked at bevel and CA Cycle and Bevel has the piston and the mushroom pin but don't seem to carry just the o ring and not in a quad ring. I'll try macmaster carr. Now to get the pin out so I can change the bearing. So far its been fighting my attempts to pull it out. Arch. |

Good luck with that. It`s like pulling the plunger out of a syringe. The pin mounts easily but pulling it out of the bearing is a lot harder. Maybe it helps putting the whole piston in the freezer over night. Removing the bearing is even more difficult. I don`t know how other guys did it but I ruined my first piston when trying to get that bearing out. |

I know what you mean G, I've struggled with the piston all day, got the pin out and had to finally use a dremel on the bearing to break it apart. I still have most of the outer race still in the piston and tomorrow going over to a friends place to touch the race in a couple of areas with a arc welder to shrink it. we use to do this on bmw steering head races when not having a tool and it works nicely. I hope to salvage the piston but it is slightly marked up in a couple of spots on the inside. Steve I know that number is still available from shops but I was trying to source a x or quad ring but no luck so far. I called the local Honda shop today and they will have some of the square rings with the number that was given in the FAQ's so I will try one of those. Thanks everyone, Arch. |

93040091A is a V shaped seal and imo already better than the old o-ring. I think I`d prefer that to a square ring.

Well finally got the remains of the outer race out of the piston today and the piston is still usable. I ordered a 900ss piston as used by G and it will come from Italy. I also ordered two of the 93040091a seals from ducati of Omaha so hope they are the v shape. I've got to get the bearing probably Mon. and Ill be set. Funny thing is I had a fraud alert when I got home tonight on my Amex card because Duc of Omaha put the order no. in the amount column and tried to charge my card a little over 51K for two seals and a piston!! That would have certainly made my wife happy! I'm going to try and get a couple of pins made and I assume that bronze would be the correct material? Thanks Arch. |
