I am glad you sorted the clutch out and it works ok. best of luck with the oil filter etc.

dave says the clutchpack of a monster fits but do you put all plates in paso or a certain number, ive got six of each in mine just enough room for large circlip engages gears runs up to 4,000rpm then no drive and sounds terrible circlip hasnt fell out replaced master cylinder still havent a clue could i have put something else out of sync e.g valves carbs. ...desmodave. |

I do not understand why you have no drive after 4,000 rpm?, i fitted the clutch plate kit # 19020051A it comprises 8 friction plates and 8 plain plates, i have 2 of each left over in the box so there are 6 of each that i fitted and i have no problems with my clutch, seems that you must have a problem elsewhere for there to be no drive at more than 4,000 rpm. just a thought but i might be wrong have you used a lock washer on the clutch centre nut as the centre may be loose possibly could cause no drive. my paso will drive and rev over 4,000 no problem it would rev to the red line if i wanted it to, so your problem is a mystery to me and i hope you can fix it. did you tension the clutch spings as the bolts should be tightened up so the plates grip and drive the clutch maybe they are loose and are slipping, it would also explain the noise you are getting from the clutch. If you can wait till the weekend i will take mine apart and see what order they are in as it a while ago that i renewed the plates i will need to have a look see and i will let you know ok. |
