I have been TRYING for almost three monthsto get a red Paso 750 (1988) out of our local Duc dealer. Every time I come close to buying it though it develops a problem. Now the problem is fuel starvation "after ten minutes". They have replaced the fuel pump, it has 36mm Dellortos. I'd put up some pix of the carb setup if I had any. Grrr. I even had money down on the bike for a while till they couldn't get it to run out right. Pissing me off! |

Dana, Looks like they are struggeling with the Paso; so this could be your opportunity to make them an offer they can't refuse. Offer them $1000 less and you will take off their hands and make their problem disappear. Fraser. |

LOL already did via email earlier today. :-) Since it is a consignment bike it is up to the current owner and how very tired he is of the poor wee beastie. |

If you have the skills you can sort this out. The Dell's don't need a fuel pump to run perfectly. 10 minutes can't be fuel starvation. Maybe flooding? Have you read thru the FAQ? |

Have a look to the fuel fliter, both the external one and the net inside the tank, engaged to the petcock. Ensure yourself that the air iron pipe inside the tank is not corked or somehow shut. Old bikes happen to need "special and lòovely cares" when they stand by for too long without a correct recovery! Smile her and make her a caress! ![]() ![]() |

The plot thicks... The owner of this consignment Paso is apparently kaputska or nearly (health issues) and the dealership has $800 invested so far in making it not-work, though they did say when it IS running it makes 61HP at the rear wheel on the Dyno! I told them Saturday that if the owner's power of attorney person would take it, I'd pay the shop fee and take it off their hands. Now the mechanic at local Ducati place thinks the bike is running too rich. Who knows... But, the shop wanted One Last Try to make the Paso run right. ![]() They should just sell me the thing to me. Grrr. |

My bike had the funny fuel starvation problem for a while. Ended up to be a pinched vent tube from the tank. If they don't route it correctly when they put the tank back on, its easy to pinch. And of course its running too rich. Nobody is taking it out for a proper ride. Sounds like a done deal to me. Cheers, |

I emailed them again today to tell them I'd pay the shop fee if they could convince the current owner to get rid of the bike for that price. Sigh... This is silly. Just sell it! |

By the way... This is the shop that told me the way to remove the Ducati Darmah's threaded steerer tube nut (they didn't have the tool) was to use a chisel. Err... No. Went to a bicycle shop and got the correct Park Tool. |

Maybe you should make them an offer they cant refuse! It might cost you a bit more to get a non running bike but if they are using chisels around Ducati regularily you need to save this paso from these people before it's too late!!! |
