Post subject: Question regarding Mikuni conversion
PostPosted: Sat Nov 17, 2007 9:05 pm
Friends:

After a hiatus of 6 months, my 2006-07 Ducati Paso winter project is getting some renewed attention.

My rebuild of the Weber has not been succesful. I acquired a set of Mikuni's from a discarded 750ss. I understand that I will need the inlet manifold's and gaskets. Does anybody have a recomendation on what throttle-grip assembly to use? And where to acquire one?

Wish me luck. If this doesn't pan out, this bike is going on ebay. Any body interested?

Brett

use the throttle grip assembly of a Supersport or Monster. The throttle cables of these bikes will fit also.
Probably any other throttle grip assembly with 2 cables will work.

Are You sure Gerhard, cause in my system that return spring in Mikuni set seems to be so hard, that it can function also with original Weber one wire system without problems??? Why to put 2 wire system, if one wire function well... This all is still my taughts, cause i havent put my system pieces together yet, what happens just after, when i managed to buy Mikuni Stage 1 kit to my carbs, next week! And seems also pod filters from BMC.... That Elephant airbox needeed as muc work, as from original Paso airbox, so i "give up" for that...

I guess that would work also. In fact I was thinking the same when I did the conversion, but got the carbs with the correct throttle grip. However I`m sure there is a proper reason why the grips where changed to 2 cable operation. If throttle doesn`t close you can force it, but as I said I do not know the reason...
