I found that the fuel supply passage to the choke chamber in one of my PHF36 Dellortos had not been drilled through by the factory, when I was tuning my carburetors after buying my bike.
You probably don't need to worry about this if you have Dellortos fitted, because its unlikely you would find this on both your carbs, and one operative choke system should be enough to start your bike, if everything else is in order, even in cold climates.
I didnt bother drilling out the unfinished passage, I just took the choke cable off that carb, leaving the choke piston and spring in place, to stop the possibility of the carb running lean.
